Kalamunda Veterinary Clinic
We care for you and your pets

If you have an emergency please call 9257 1600 now

At Kalamunda Veterinary Clinic we aim to provide a 24 hour emergency service for our clients. Dr John Houghton has emergency and critical care experience and has worked at GoddardsVeterinaryHospital in London and the Animal Emergency Centre Canberra. Dr Lisa Maller-Brown works regularly at BalcattaEmergencyHospital in Perth

Although Kalamunda Veterinary Clinic has the facilities to deal with most out of hours emergencies, there are limitations;

We are a "Clinic" not an "open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year emergency centre".

We do not have the number of staff necessary to be a 24/7 emergency centre and we do not have overnight supervision of inpatients.

Our aim is to help you by offering a convenient, high standard of emergency care to the best of our ability but ask you to understand that we cannot be available all of the time. There will be periods when you will call us and receive an answering message directing you to call Murdoch Pet Emergency Centre on 1300 652 494. MurdochUniversity offers an excellent service, is only 35 minutes away and is our back up service for when we cannot attend to your pet ourselves. The rest of the time, we are here for you!

Bonnie Survives Snake bite

Bonnie was presented to us last summer after being bitten by a snake. The snake was never seen but her symptoms were classic.

Bonnie quickly became completely paralysed and needed oxygen ventilation, snake anti-venom and overnight intensive care.

In an emergency situation quick intervention is always more likely to result in a positive outcome and thanks to the dedicated staff at Kalamunda Vet, Bonnie survived.

It was 6 hours before she finally started breathing on her own but she recovered and went home soon afterwards as if nothing had happened.
